Lately all of the channels are either not working or mixed up. For the past few days the system only gets Channel 7 or Bravo. For over two weeks they were missing a simple $3.00 dollar cable.
Anything to make a buck!
I just got a courtesy call pertaining to billing and Liz the manager was amazing to speak to. Please come and join.
There is also some workout machines that never seem to get fixed. For example the cable pull wheels sounds like they are going to fall off. Again, you have a service contract, call the technician and get the equipment fixed.
Good Luck Cancelling!
Read your contract carefully: it requires you to give them 30 days written notice by CERTIFIED MAIL to cancel. It's easy to sign up, but if you need to cancel for any reason at all, you have to (1) write and print a document, (2) go to the post office, (3) wait in line at the post office and spend a couple bucks in postage, and (4) you better be on the ball and anticipate that your renewal date is coming up because otherwise they'll hit you for another monthly membership fee.
Do not get a membership with this gym. They will lie to you about “No obligations, no initiation fee, cancel whenever you want.” Continuously get the run around from staff and manager never available.
I started there a few months ago, very nice and kewl local gym. The machines are great and clean. The gym is well maintained. The theater room is nice for people who get bored on the treadmill.
I have been a member for quite some time now and have been going on average 3 to 5 times per week. The staff is great, all very friendly and helpful. They try to help but not everything is in their power.
I have one major issue. The equipment is just not cared for.
The TV's and their video system has been having trouble for about a week now. Each time I inquire about it, they tell me, they have notified the manager and that it is a Verizon issue. I am sure they have a service contract, get someone in to repair the system. People pay and come to the gym to workout when a critical part of the system is broken it is very frustrating.
Sometimes it is a little bit overcrowded. Not so many people during the weekends.
When I finally met the manager he blamed his staff for not notifying him. 1st, never blame the staff to a customer, 2nd, make it your business to check out your equipment yourself at least once a week. The gym is not that big and you can probably get it done in about a hour. The buck stops with the manager.
New gyms are popping up all the time, if you don;t care for your equipment and the services you provide, the next gym will open up and everyone will simply go there, just like you got a lot of customer due to the same frustrations and NYSC.
